Wednesday, September 2
Meet your New York guide, Carly Lee of A Night on the Town Tours, at Kansas City International Airport this morning for your Delta non-stop flight to New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Upon arrival at LGA, private transportation is provided to The Empire Hotel near Lincoln Center, Central Park and the Broadway Theater District.
We’ll begin our time together in New York City with a cocktail, followed by a three course dinner with wine pairing at Tavern on the Green.
Thursday, September 3
Have coffee in your room, visit the Starbucks located off the lobby of The Empire, or choose from the many breakfast options within the hotel.
This morning Carly Lee will be joined by George Harter of A Night on the Town Tours for a tour of Central Park, beginning at The Dakota, then Strawberry Fields (the tribute to John Lennon), Bethesda Fountain, Literary Mall, and ending at The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park.
This afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy the city as you wish. A list of area restaurants and attractions will be provided.
At 5:30 PM, gather for Happy Hour at the Rooftop Bar at The Empire. Then head out together for your Broadway show tonight: Just in Time at Circle in the Square Theatre with Jeremy Jordan as Bobby Darin. This fast-paced, high-energy show has been a surprise hit, selling at 100% since it opened last fall.
After the theater, enjoy a beverage and return to your hotel at leisure, or Carly will walk back with those who wish to turn in.
Friday, September 4
As an option after breakfast, Carly Lee & George Harter will take you to The Cloisters, featuring the art, architecture & gardens of medieval Europe — including the famous Unicorn Tapestries. An extension of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Cloisters is within a rebuilt 12th-century Italian monastery perched high on the banks of the Hudson River with sweeping views of the river valley, the George Washington Bridge and the New Jersey Palisades.
Tonight is a show of your choosing! Tell us what you want to see and your tickets will be ready for you.
Saturday, September 5
The day is free to explore New York at your leisure. As an option this morning, George & Carly will take you by subway to Greenwich Village for a literary & art-themed walking tour.
Tonight we gather for a cocktail & dinner at The Grand Tier Restaurant beneath the Chagall tapestries within the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.
After dinner, you have tickets to the spectacular new production of Ragtime at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center. After the theater, there are plenty of nearby options for late-night food & beverages — and the hotel is within sight of the theater if you prefer to call it a night.
Sunday, September 6
Enjoy your leisurely New York Sunday morning. Airport transfer is included for the afternoon flight home.
